Play with Purpose
The Patriot Learning Center (PLC) at All Saints Episcopal School gives children from age three through kindergarten a loving and joyful place where learning and play intertwine.
“Play grows brains best” and “Children grow along the same path, at their own unique pace” describe All Saints’ approach to early childhood education, Play with a Purpose. It is based on Dr. Arnold Gesell’s research at Yale University. All Saints teachers are trained in Gesell techniques that support each child’s individual development.
Your child’s developmental needs will be met at All Saints in four key developmental areas: social, physical, emotional, and intellectual.
Students actively explore their environment and select many of their own activities from an assortment of learning centers — science, math, blocks, literacy, dramatic play, games and puzzles, art, music, fine and gross motor skills.
PLC classes look like play, but your child will be building the foundational skills needed to thrive in All Saint’s academic programs.
Your child will also benefit from a unique selection of “special” classes that include traditional offerings of music, art, and physical education. Furthermore, All Saints partners with Lingo Academy to provide your child with early instruction in Spanish that is fun and engaging.
Your child will take Engineering Design, a developmentally appropriate approach to problem solving with technology.
Your son or daughter will explore their faith through story and inquiry in a class called Godly Play, a spiritual development curriculum based on Montessori education principles.
Your child will participate in character education lessons focused on The All Saints Way.
