“I just love spelling” plain and simple. This is what Jess contributes to his success in the 2018 Middle School Spelling Bee.  After a grueling 35 rounds, Gaines walked away with his first Middle School Spelling Bee win. “I am really excited about moving on to the Regional pelling Bee later this semester,” said Gaines.

7th grader Tanusha Nath didn’t give up easily. “I study spelling words every day” said Tanusha. She’s going to continue to work hard and
looks forward to next year!

*Interesting fact about these two competitors – their siblings battled it out two years ago and Tanusha’s sister went on to compete in the National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. Spelling is in their blood.  It will be fun to see what other successes unfold in the future for these two young spellers.  Good luck to both of you!

Congratulations to our LS Spelling Bee Winner, fourth grader Anna Lipe! Anna works hard on her spelling and practices at home often. This is her first time winning the spelling bee. Also a fourth grader, Lia Liu is our runner-up. Nice work, ladies.
