Senior Paige Schlehuber was crowned Homecoming Queen and senior Ash Bumstead was crowned Homecoming King Friday during the Homecoming Pep Rally.
The Court was nominated and elected by the high school students. The King candidates were Jackson Bass, Ash Bumstead, Vincent Paone, Ross Rogers, and Graham St. Clair. Queen candidates were Jacklyn DeClerk, Kate Henderson, Sydney Locke, Presley Mills, and Paige Schlehuber. The King and Queen were crowned by Lulu Lane, whose family participated in the Legacy auction to receive this special homecoming opportunity.
As a four-year member of the Varsity Volleyball team, Varsity Basketball team, and Varsity Tennis team, Schlehuber has earned district and state awards each year as well as being named to the Academic All State Teams and each sports’ All State teams last year. She also competed her freshman year on the Varsity Cross Country team and competed in the TAPPS 2A State Championship. When not on the court, she is a member of Young Life and National Honor Society and served as Class Representative each year on Student Council. She has been named to the Headmaster’s Honor Roll each year and participated in the College Board AP Seminar course. Schlehuber volunteers for the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra by serving as a Symphony Debutante and also volunteers at the South Plains Food Bank and Salvation Army. Paige plans to major in Sports Management and Marketing in college, but she is still exploring where she wants to attend college. Schlehuber loves Dallas Stars Hockey, wakeboarding, and traveling. She is the daughter of Carrie and Robert Schlehuber. Her sister, Abby, graduated from All Saints in 2020 and is a freshman at Texas Tech.
Bumstead was recently named by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as a National Merit Scholar based upon his 2019 PSAT scores. He is a member of the Varsity Basketball, Cross Country, and Track teams and has earned state honors in each sport. He is president of the Chemistry Club and founding member of the school’s Honor Council. In addition, he is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, High School Band, Mock Trial Team, and TAPPS Academic Team, in which he is a two-time TAPPS 2A State Champion in Mathematics. He has received the prestigious Proven Patriot Award each year of high school along with being named to the Headmaster Honor Roll each year. Bumstead is active in his church youth group at Lakeridge United Methodist Church and traveled with them on a Tanzania Mission Trip in 2014 to work with schools in remote villages. He serves All Saints as a Student Ambassador, which includes live TV interviews and promotional videos for student recruitment as well as personally visiting with prospective students and families. His hobbies include playing the piano and guitar along with hunting and fishing, he also enjoys spikeball, basketball, and board games. Bumstead plans to attend either Baylor University or SMU next fall and major in Mechanical Engineering. His parents are Krista and Matt Bumstead. His brother, Nate, is in seventh grade at All Saints while his sister, Susannah, is a 2019 All Saints graduate and a sophomore at Baylor.
