New Movement and Mindfulness Class for
Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten
All Saints is excited to introduce our new Movement and Mindfulness class for Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students. The class focuses on three core principles: Movement, Active Meditation, and Mindfulness activities.
All Saints students are learning age-appropriate movement with fun-activities that are geared towards creating a growth-mindset that focuses on the development of success through hard work. Mantras such as “I can do hard things” and “I got this” are developed. The meditation activities increase focus and develop the students ability to be in the present. The mindfulness activities, including breathing techniques facilitate emotion regulation. They learn that “breath is their super power.” Breath can both calm their bodies and/or create energy.
The class is lead by All Saints parent and Certified Life Specialist Amy Garcia-Smith, MS, CCLS. She has additional training in kids yoga (RYT-200) and mindfulness and meditation. When she is not teaching at All Saints, she is at the UMC Pediatric Cancer Center where she teaches brave young children effective coping strategies that help them face their diagnosis and treatment plan.
The Movement and Mindfulness classes are just one way that All Saints offers our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students a place where learning and play intertwine.
All Saints Offers Synchronous Learning
The teachers at All Saints are going above and beyond to bring the best academic experience to our students. Through synchronous learning, online students are experiencing “real-time” learning along with their classmates on campus.
If a child needs to stay home or quarantine, they are able to seamlessly stay on track with their school work and not fall behind. Have we had some bumps in the road? Of course, but we are making great strides!
Thank you to our students, parents, teachers and administrators for offering the flexibility necessary to maneuver through this pandemic. It’s not always seamless, but we continue to move in the right direction. Nice work, Patriots!

We continue our journey through Genesis in Morning Chapel. We have left the Garden of Eden and have stowed away on the Ark with Noah. Soon, we will spend time pondering the Tower of Babel and more. Please make time to join us each morning at 8:00am live on the school’s Facebook page or anytime clicking on the Online Chapel link on the top of the school’s website home page.
Hope to ‘see’ you there.
Each year All Saints invites our community to support the school’s academic and learning environment by making a tax-deductible gift to the Annual Fund. These gifts directly support student programming, technology, athletics, fine arts, and much more. Because tuition alone does not cover 100 percent of what is needed to educate a student, the Annual Fund provides the additional revenue needed.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you and recognize our 2019-2020 Annual Fund Donors. Every donation makes a difference and we are grateful.

Health and Wellness
Nurse Lisa and Nurse Stormi would like to remind everyone to get your flu shot! According to the CDC, “Getting a flu vaccine is more important than ever during 2020-2021 to protect yourself and the people around you from flu, and to help reduce the strain on healthcare systems responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
We are erring on the side of caution at All Saints and encourage everyone to stay home if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. Here’s a quick and easy symptom reminder from the CDC:
Freshman Class Receives New iPads
In addition to the chilly weather we are having, some of our freshmen students felt like Christmas came early in the classroom too. Dr. Carpenter was excited to distribute the first round of new technology to the freshmen class. Each student received a shiny new iPad and Apple Pencil. Additional iPads for students in other divisions are ordered and expected to arrive in October. As you might imagine, Apple is filling high demands worldwide right now. We appreciate your patience as we anxiously await the arrival of this new technology.

Lower School News
Mr. Hutchinson and the middle school teachers would like to say thank you to all of the parents and students for your cooperation and patience at pick-up and drop off. There are a lot of moving parts as we work through all the safety protocols. The good attitude of our parents and students is noticed and appreciated. Thank you.
The students have been diligent in wearing their face coverings and taking care of each other! Way to go, Patriots! Keep up the great work.
Thank you Class of 2019
The Class of 2019 senior gift was a refrigerator for Mr. Chance’s science classroom. When asked what they would like to donate to the school, the class agreed that they’d like to leave something that is both practical and dear to their hearts. A gift for a teacher that is special to the students in that class and was needed for the new middle school science lab was the perfect solution.
Mr. Chance was thrilled to be able to pick out the refrigerator himself! He found one that fit his needs and the needs of his classroom perfectly. It was delivered last week.
On Thursday, August 27, at 8:00am, All Saints hosted an Investiture Ceremony for seniors and senior families. It was a beautiful ceremony and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our seniors as they embark on their new leadership role within the school.
Because of social distancing guidelines, we were unable to invite the entire All Saints community. The recorded video is available for you to view. Enjoy.

This is a big week at All Saints Episcopal School as the Patriots return to sports competitions. When our high school volleyball teams and the middle school and high school cross country teams compete this Friday it will have been 183 days since our last competitions. Congratulations to all of the student-athletes and their coaches on their hard work and commitment to health and safety to get to this point. We are looking forward to a fun, exciting and successful year for all of our Patriot teams.
As we go forward with events, the COVID-19 health and safety protocols for other schools will be shared as soon as we have them. All Saints’ event protocols will be published and communicated to parents this week. Being respectful of each schools’ COVID-19 health and safety requirements as well as what will be expected at All Saints will be critical in helping to ensure that the student-athletes get to continue their athletic activities throughout the year.

All Saints Patriots 2020-2021 Booster Club
The All Saints Patriots Booster Club would like to start this school year by thanking all the volunteers who put in extra effort to make last year so successful. We would not have been able to do it all without the help of parents, students, and grandparents!! We realize that this school year looks a bit different, but know that with the help of everyone in the All Saints family, we can make the 2020-2021 year just as successful as last year.
The Booster Club’s mission is to promote athletic excellence, good sportsmanship, and character-building relationships among student athletes, coaches, parents, and friends. We are able to accomplish this mission with our various fundraisers throughout the year, which help us provide funds for uniforms, travel expenses, and various other gifts to the school such as trophy cases, stands for the football field, and tumbling mats. As you probably know, with the help and support of many parents through their volunteer efforts, the Booster Club operates the concession stands and gates for all middle school and high school games. You may not know that the Booster Club’s other fundraisers include spirit wear sales, promotional signs to be displayed during games, and our annual golf tournament. (Mark your calendars for Monday, May 3rd for the golf tournament – you won’t want to miss such a fun event!)
Membership in the Booster Club is free and by simply being a parent or grandparent of an All Saints student, you are automatically a member of the Booster Club! The first meeting of the year is tentatively set to be held in Patriot Gym on September 25 at noon. You will need to enter the school through the office and go through the screening process. Just as we do at school with our kids, masks will be required. If we need to switch to a zoom meeting, we will let you know the week of the meeting.
It is not necessary to attend meetings in order to participate with Booster Club – volunteering at games, participating in the annual golf tournament, or cheering at games are great ways to show your support for student athletes, the Booster Club, and All Saints. If you are interested in stepping up to a committee or officer position for Booster Club, we welcome your help! We are actively looking for a Spirit Wear Chairperson, so if organization and creativity are your things, this position is made for you! Know that your contributions of time and money (and cheering at games!) help improve the overall athletic experience for all Patriot Athletes. Please email our Booster Club President Carrie Schlehuber at email@example.com if you have any questions or would like to inquire about a Booster Club position.
Seventh Annual Swing for the Future Golf Tournament – Postponed till May 3, 2021
After much discussion, the decision has been made to push back the Swing for the Future Golf Tournament until May 3, 2021.
If you have already made a payment and/or a commitment to sponsor or play in this year’s event, the Booster Club would like to thank you. If your schedule allows you to participate in May, we will carry over your commitment to the new May event. If you are unable to join us in May or you’d like to make a change to your sponsorship, please contact Cindy Taylor @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
