Patriots Get Fit in 2020
Our fifth grade P.E. class has put together a quick workout that will have you feeling and looking your best in the new year. As an extra bonus, this is a workout that you can do alongside your child!
Spoiler Alert: Coach Brashear and Coach Simons make their debut to the big screen in this workout video! They are great sports and a fun time was had by all the participants. Thank you to our fifth graders for helping us start the new year out right with jumping jacks, high knees, squats and planks… oh my!
Calling all patriots!
Re-enrollment time is coming soon. Enrollment forms for the 2020-2021 school year will be sent to families later this month. Be on the lookout. All Saints will have waitlists for multiple grade levels, so it is important to secure your child’s spot early. We want all of our Patriots back in the fall!
Do you have friends that are looking for a new school family? The admissions team would love to talk to them! Please contact Paige McKay at 806-745-7701 or email pmckay@allsaintsschool.org.
We will host an informational Open House on January 25 for current and prospective families with children ages three-five to learn more about special programs & opportunities available in the Patriot Learning Center. It’s a great time to be a Patriot!

Chapel Notes
Blessed Epiphany to all. The church season of Epiphany is less known than some of the other seasons of the church year. It is a season of four to nine weeks, from Jan. 6 through the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. The length of the season varies according to the date of Easter. The gospel stories of this season describe various events that manifest the divinity of Jesus. The coming of the Magi is celebrated on the Epiphany. The Baptism of our Lord is observed on the Sunday after Epiphany. The gospels for the other Sundays of the Epiphany season describe the wedding at Cana, the calling of the disciples, and various miracles and teachings of Jesus. The Last Sunday after the Epiphany is always devoted to the Transfiguration. Jesus‘ identity as the Son of God is dramatically revealed in the Transfiguration gospel, as well as the gospel of the baptism of Christ. We are focusing on these stories in our 8:00 chapel services in January and February.
It has been a joy to serve alongside middle school students last semester. This semester the schedule includes lower school and, later this spring, kindergarten. The confidence, poise, and experience our children gain by serving in chapel leadership roles benefits them in numerous ways. Thank you to our parents and grandparents for the support of our acolytes and chapel at All Saints.
Peace, Chaplain Paige+
Patriot Spotlight

Tinley Miller
Kindergartener Tinley Miller recently competed at her first county stock show and did very well. She placed second in class with her lambs, Belle and Ariel.
There’s a lot of hard work that goes into preparing for this big day. Tinley has learned valuable lessons that will serve her well in day-to-day life. These life skills include responsibility, work ethic, presentation skills and much more! There’s a lot of practice that takes place at home preparing for the judging. Your school family applauds your hard work, Tinley! Way to go.

Eagle Scouts
Gage Clary, James Latour and Jack Osborne, members of Troop 157, have achieved Scouting’s highest rank of Eagle Scout. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout requires perseverance, commitment, and strong character as scouts must earn all ranks in scouting, culminating in an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads and manages.
Gage Clary, current senior at All Saints, constructed a gaga ball pit for the existing playground here at All Saints for all students to enjoy.
James Latour, currently a senior and former Patriot, built new benches for the central courtyard at All Saints to provide a pleasing area for all to gather.
Jack Osborne, currently a senior and former Patriot, built a dog park to enhance the quality of life for the residents of the Mary Myers Senior housing complex.
Congratulations!

MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
From the Desk of Mr. Hutchinson
The Annual Spelling Bee is scheduled for January 22 immediately following chapel in Jones Gym. All are welcome to attend! It is a fun morning for all involved.
We also have two pep rallies coming up. The first, led by the high school cheer squad, is on January 24. The second one will be on January 27. This one will be led by our middle school cheer squad. Normally, we try not to have pep rallies so close together, however the middle school basketball and cheer squad schedules have necessitated having them on back-to-back school days. Please plan to come out and send our middle school basketball teams off to the WTCAA tournaments with lots of school support! Go Patriots!

HIGH SCHOOL NEWS
From the Desk of Ms. Edmonson
In the high school division we are already busy with the mock trial team traveling to Dallas last week for a scrimmage before the big competition in February. Athletics is in the middle of basketball season with tennis, swimming and track competitions soon approaching; plus faculty are preparing students for academic competitions and Advance Placement testing later this semester. Sophomores and juniors will be touring some Texas public and private colleges in March and freshman head to Galveston in late April for a variety of water activities. Also, juniors and their parents will be meeting with Ms. Edmonson and Mrs. Belk in the coming weeks to discuss college planning and preparation for college admissions. In the middle of all the hard work, the students are looking forward to the upcoming Winterfest Pep Rally & Lock – In next week.
ALUMNI PANEL
How does All Saints measure student success? Eight outstanding ASES alumni shared their insights at a special event on January 8, designed to let eighth grade and high school students hear about the experiences of these graduates. The morning began with a question & answer session with current eighth graders and parents. Then, the group fielded questions from current high school students about college life and preparation for the next step. Questions ranged from “how did All Saints High School prepare you for your college experience?” to “how did you choose a college roommate?” to questions about Greek life and study habits.
Eighth grade parents wanted to know what the alums liked best about All Saints and how well-prepared they felt for college course loads. The panel of alums all agreed that the wide range of activities and opportunities available at All Saints were one of their favorite things about their high school experience, along with the tight knit community. The small environment really helped them to build their confidence and feel comfortable approaching professors in college, while all the activities allowed them an opportunity to find something they were passionate about and helped mold their time management skills.
Austin Hickle ‘18 accredits much of his success in college and in his young life to the love and support he felt at All Saints. “I would not be where I am today without the incredible experience that I was given at All Saints. It sounds cliche, but it is true.”
Panel Included (listed from left to right in the photo): Ret Taylor ‘19 (Texas Tech University/Industrial Engineering Honors College & XC and Track and Field Team), Benton St. Clair ‘19 (Baylor University/Business major), Michael Sharp ‘16 (Texas Tech University /Sports Management major), Riley Higgins ‘17 (TCU/Junior Nursing major), Raymond Rider ‘18 (Pepperdine/Psychology Honors College), Austin Hickle ‘18 (SMU/Government & Economics major, Hunt Leadership Scholar), Ava Moran ‘18 (University of Texas/Government and Plan II Honors Program), Bri Sanchez ’19 (Pace University, New York/Political Science & Acting major)
